Meet Emily
I love working with newborns and toddlers (my lifelong goal is to be a pediatrician!), and I’m passionate about creating positive early experiences in the water for little ones, so being a Water Babies teacher is a perfect fit for me! Before moving for university, I taught swimming lessons for children at my local community centre, and I’m thrilled to be able to continue teaching swimming here in Kingston.
What aspect of being a Water Babies teacher excites you the most?
What excites me most about being a Water Babies teacher is witnessing the parents’ amazement as their little ones master skills they never thought possible for a baby or toddler to achieve. Seeing that mix of pride and surprise on their faces makes every hour spent lesson planning completely worth it!
What’s your favourite skill and why?
My favourite Water Babies skill is definitely any teacher-to-carer underwater swims, as it allows me to build a special connection with the little swimmers while giving parents the joy of watching their infants and toddlers go underwater.

How our lessons work
Supportive lessons
Taught in a friendly group atmosphere, one carer per child and one of our teachers in the pool in each lesson.
30 minutes long
Lessons take place each week, so it’s a wonderful way to bond with your baby away from the craziness of life.
Have fun!
Skills are taught through song, play and repetition, so there’s never a dull moment when you’re in the pool.
Tailored progress
Our teachers will tailor each lesson to your little one’s ability, so it’s only when they’re ready, we’re ready.
What we’ll teach you
Our program helps your little one develop essential swimming skills, confidence, and water safety from day one. We’ll teach you to teach your baby to swim.
