I’ve always loved working with young children and being in the water, so becoming a Water Babies teacher felt like the perfect fit for me.
What’s your favourite part about teaching?
My favourite part of teaching is watching babies grow in confidence and learn new skills. Those little moments when their faces light up with pride are so rewarding. I also love it when toddlers get so comfortable in the program that they ask to do their favourite skills again. It’s such a sweet reminder of how much fun they’re having and how connected they feel to the lessons.
What do you love about Water Babies?
My favourite part is definitely the little ones themselves. Their joy, curiosity, and energy make every swimming lesson so special. Watching them progress each week, from their very first splash to confidently trying new skills in the pool, is an incredible experience. I love knowing that I’m helping them build a positive, safe, and happy relationship with water right from the start.
What’s your most memorable moment as a Water Babies teacher?
One of my most memorable moments was with a shy little toddler who was hesitant at first. Over time, they gradually built the confidence to sing along with me and join in every skill. Seeing that transformation, from uncertainty to pure joy and confidence, reminded me exactly why I love teaching. Moments like these show how powerful our lessons are in helping little ones grow, trust, and truly shine in the water.

How our lessons work
Supportive lessons
Taught in a friendly group atmosphere, one carer per child and one of our teachers in the pool in each lesson.
30 minutes long
Lessons take place each week, so it’s a wonderful way to bond with your baby away from the craziness of life.
Have fun!
Skills are taught through song, play and repetition, so there’s never a dull moment when you’re in the pool.
Tailored progress
Our teachers will tailor each lesson to your little one’s ability, so it’s only when they’re ready, we’re ready.
What we’ll teach you
Our program helps your little one develop essential swimming skills, confidence, and water safety from day one. We’ll teach you to teach your baby to swim.
